Arnaud Marchac Cranio-Orbital Distractor

Midface distraction osteogenesis is a proven strategy for midface hypoplasia for many years. During this time KLS Martin has been fortunate to work with some of the top craniofacial experts in the development of simple to use, anatomically ideal distractor designs.

Designing 'internal' devices can be more challenging - as they must be oriented properly and fit to the patient easily during placement.

The Arnaud Cranio-Orbital device is a modular design that provides a unique fit with a universal gear system while the Arnaud-Marchac device is a compact monobloc all-in-one design.

Two for use in any case

These systems were developed by two leading French surgeons, Eric Arnaud and Daniel Marchac, and are among the distractors used most frequently for this type of indication all over the world.

The system includes gears, gear tubes and several attachment choices to the bone.

The low profile of the distractor gears keep patient comfort and soft tissue compatibility in mind.

Altogether four internal distractors are used in each case – two of them for horizontal advancement of the midface, while two cranioorbital distractors are used to ensure optimal occlusion.
